Lompico Park was started as a community swimming pool. It used Lompico Creek, by putting in a temporary dam, and using the area behind the dam as the swim area. It ceased all swim activities sometime in the 1970's or early 1980's. Changing it from a pool to another facility has been a slow process. There is now a bus stop shelter, soda machine, phone booth, water fountain, half-court basketball and play equipment. The park is the work of the Lompico Community Center and is maintained through volunteers.
Lompico Creek flows through the park.
Ben Lomond County Park has a similar history of using a creek area for community swimming.
